Carpe The What? And A Little Bit About This Blog...

After a long journey to try and find the right blog name, I came across one of my favorite new-age sayings. “Carpe the hell out of this Diem.” Now, my High School Latin teacher would be mortified if she knew I loved this saying. She taught me Latin for 4 years and still won’t accept how the world pronounces Caesar dressing - - “It’s pronounced KAI-SAR not SEE-ZAR!” All that aside, I love the meaning of Carpe Diem. It’s translation to English as many of you know is “Seize the Day!” My new-age translation is then “Seize the hell out of this day!” That’s how I want to live. Live for the day and make the most out of it.
Where does Sangria come in? Sangria is fun, flexible and relatable!
FUN – Sangria is a drink that calls for a good time. It’s mostly enjoyed in the summer when you’re with friends at the beach (which are all my favorite things)! For me, Sangria is also a staple at the Thanksgiving and Christmas Day table. My cousins make the world’s best red sangria! And, you can drink it WHILE you eat it (the fruit, duh!)! Um, the best of both worlds….especially if you love fruit like I do! BE FUN! Make your food and exercise something you enjoy every day, and you’ll find your health.
FLEXIBLE – In so many ways! It can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic, red or white or pink, strong or mild, fruity or herby (did I just make that word up?), and comes in all shapes and sizes of glasses! This relates to my outlook on health and wellness. BE FLEXIBLE. Don’t get down on yourself for making a mistake, or having a bad day with food, or not exercising! We all need to have bad days in order to enjoy the really good ones :)
RELATABLE – I’d say Sangria is the most relatable drink, wouldn’t you? Not too strong that you’re scared, but not too weak that you don’t trust it! Like I said above, it can be anything you need it to be! BE RELATABLE. I will be a relatable, dependable blogger who keeps you coming back for more. I’ll always be open for comments and suggestions along the way!
So, as strange as Carpe The Sangria sounded at first, I hope this helped to clear things up!
