Pennsylvania So Far...

Man, it's good to be home. I definitely don't take this time for granted since we live 14 hours away.

On the drive home we listened to the podcast Serial. What an AWESOME way to pass time!!! We were definitely obsessed with following along and listening to episode after episode. So we binged on all 8.5 hours of the podcast. If you've listened to it I really want to know who you think did it or what happened. Joe and I've had a few conversations, but pretty much can't come to a decision. A few of my friends want him acquitted, but I just don't know!!

Once we got 10 hours into the drive we stayed the night at Joe's mom's house. We got in at 3am and I've never slept so soundly! It was too bad we had to get up by 8am to finish out the drive. But after another 4 hours we were in Hershey :)

Both my puppy and my aunt's dog were here, so I was in dog heaven.

Then, on Saturday I went wedding dress shopping!! Yes, I found one! No, I'm not going to show you any pictures haha. What an experience that was. I guess it was my first "in-person" wedding planning event. I can definitely tell you that I'm not good at being the center of attention. When everyone was looking at me…even though they're my best friends and family, I was nervous and turning red! Lol. I really have to build up my abilities by next October.

The dress store was called Cocoa Couture in Hershey, PA. They had beautiful dresses. My cousin who just got married came with and helped me talk through the gowns. Every time I came out in a dress she asked "what do you like, what don't you like." That line of questioning made me realize that I HATED one aspect of all the dresses that I thought I loved. I ended up getting something that I didn't totally expect, but I'm obsessed! Now my #sweatingforthewedding motivation is even more than before!! Haha.

So for now I'm relieved that I found a dress I love. Next up is a food tasting at our venue tomorrow! And working out. Lots of working out.

INDULGENT Holiday Recipe

AKA…not a healthy recipe haha. Because during the holidays you have to enjoy yourself…and to me there's no better way than Pudding Shots!

I found this recipe when I was in college at a tailgate. Then I made them for my friends that I went on Spring Break with and they were a total hit! I could sit here and try to make them into a "healthier" version…but lets get serious. It's an alcoholic pudding shot. There's no way to make it "clean." And life doesn't always have to be perfect and healthy because that would be extremely boring. So I hope you enjoy this recipe and share it with friends!

Jess's Pudding Shots

  • 1/2 cup Pinnacle Whipped
  • 1/2 cup Bailey's
  • 4oz packed Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Lite Whipped Cream
  • Mini Ice Cream Cones
  • Mix vodka, Bailey's, pudding mix, and milk together.
  • Slowly mix in whipped cream and stir until well combined.
  • Pour liquid batter into ziploc bags (I use 1/2 gallon bags)
  • Freeze for at least 4 hours!
  • Cut the corner of the bag and "pipe" into mini-ice cream cones and serve immediately.

If you've ever met my mom then you know she's the sweetest human ever.

Not to be outdone, she bought me the COOLEST birthday present today! A microdermabrasion!

I was originally going to get it done at home in Hershey while I was back for Christmas. But I found out that my local beauty studio does it for $25 CHEAPER! Tis the season to save, so I went this afternoon.

A microdermabrasion exfoliates the top layer of the skin and reduces lines, wrinkles and PORE SIZE (that's what I was most excited about!) If you're local to Madison I can't recommend Modish Studios ENOUGH! Marie (the licensed esthetician and skin care line creator) is incredibly knowledgable and helpful. Hearing her describe how the skin works and how to keep it hydrated, healthy and young looking was fascinating to me. Better yet, she makes it all make sense. It's funny, I've always been so diligent with feeding my body correctly and getting my vitamins and minerals in…but when it came to my skin I never thought about it. And if I've learned anything from talking to Marie, it's that ignoring your skin is stupid! Your skin is so important and if you want to look younger for longer… then you have to take care of it.

Here's my BEFORE (no foundation) and AFTER (still no foundation)

So you can see, just a little redness. But my nose pores are a lot smaller! :) It felt like a cats tongue was licking my face. Oddest description, but totally on point! After the microderm, she gave me an enzyme treatment and then a mask. My skin feels so smooth right now!

This studio is also where I get all my spray tanning done. Since I've grown up, I've realized paying for a spray tan now is much healthier than paying for skin cancer later. Heather (the owner) and her staff all do a great job. I've never left feeling orange, streaky or awkward looking. They know what they're doing and use top of the line products (which helps, believe me). In college I tried getting a spray tan at California Tan. It was a booth. It was awful. I sweated off orange at the gym 3 days later and was so embarrassed! I promise you that this won't happen if you go to Modish!

Now I'm ready to head home for the holiday's with my super fresh and healthy skin :)

Have you ever had a facial, microdermabrasion or enzyme treatment done?

T25 vs. Insanity MAX:30

After my post yesterday, I got a lot of questions!! Mostly about the difference between Insanity Max: 30 and Focus T25. Although both programs were created by Shaun T, they’re very different!

First, Focus T25 is much more choreographed. It’s based on a count system so when Shaun T’s teaching you…he’s thinking rhythms and 8 counts. This can be hard for some people to get the hang of (I know it was for me!). It usually takes about a week to figure it all out and be able to do the workouts without stopping and thinking “what arm and leg go up at the same time??” Insanity Max: 30 on the other hand, is very drill based. It’s all about speed and agility. You do tuck jumps, burpees and planks. It’s a “go-go-go---you gotta get this done because your life depends on it” kind of feeling during the workout. A sense of urgency for sure!

Focus T25 is a 25 minute program, 5 days a week with a double day on Friday’s. So the Friday workout is really 50 minutes total. Insanity Max: 30 is a 30 minute program, 5 days a week. There is an optional recovery workout called Pulse that you can do on Saturday’s, but it’s not required. I like to move most days of the week so I’m definitely going to be doing it!

T25 uses weights in the second month of the program (and in the Gamma phase if you purchase those 5 workouts). I definitely LOVED the weighted workouts. I used free weights rather than the band they send you. Max: 30 is all YOU. No weights or bands. This is great for me at this time of the year since I travel home and don’t always have access to any equipment (although a band fits fine in a suitcase!)

Both have modifiers, but Beachbody did something really great in Max: 30 that I’ve never seen before…they have a play option on the home screen called “Show Modifier.” SOOOO, when you select this option you see a regular version of the program on the left and then you ALWAYS see the modifier on the right!! Kind of like picture in picture. This has been great the past 2 days since I frequently max out and have to do the modified move. I never find myself waiting around until they show it again because it’s always right there. Bravo, Beachbody.

Since I JUST started Max: 30 I can’t give an overall opinion because I still have workouts to do! But, here’s my advice. If you’ve NEVER done a DVD workout program…start with T25. It’s a great way to learn basic moves, get faster, stronger and more confident in your skills. If you workout regularly or have already done T25 and want a shock to the system, then go with Max: 30! It’s one of those workouts that I know I’ll keep coming back to (just like the regular Insanity). Both are short, sweet and effective!

Insanity Max:30 Day 1

Day 1. Yep, I started Insanity Max:30!

The best part of this Insanity workout is that it's only 30 minutes!!

So it made it a lot easier to get out of bed this morning when I knew it wasn't a whole hour like the previous Insanity.

This first workout is considered the fit test. So we do it weekly and measure progress on the calendar.

Insanity Max is different from regular Insanity, because you measure your "max out" time. This is the minute mark in the workout where you can no longer keep up and have to take a break. Shaun T reminds you it's OKAY to max out..since that's the whole point of the workout. I maxed out at 4:10 today. And honestly, it was because of my calfs!! The warm up section is a lot of jumping movements and my calfs are way out of shape. Once you max out you jot it down on the tracking calendar…then JUMP BACK IN.

The moves in the workout are really dynamic…meaning lots of muscle groups all at once. My favorite was definitely Chair Squat Jumps. It's like a really mean twist on chair pose in yoga and burns your inner thighs!!

Like all Beachbody programs, Max:30 comes with a nutrition guide. The REALLY cool part of this nutrition guide is that it utilizes the container system! And the containers are the same ones used in the 21 Day Fix!! You certainly don't need them..but it's such an awesome way to link together the programs and keep you thinking about eating well. It shows you how to advance past the 21 days of the fix and into a lifetime of health!! Even if you don't have the 21 Day Fix, you can buy the containers separately here.

Overall, I'm impressed with the first workout, the nutrition guide, the eating out guide and the inspiration from Shaun T before and during the workout!! I'll be keeping you updated as I progress through :)

Crockpot Chicken Meatballs

This has felt like a really busy week! I got behind on a project at work and had to stay up until 1am on Monday night finishing it. I blame that 1 night for the constant feeling of busy I've had since! I'm a very regimented (okay, old lady) when it comes to my sleep. Sunday through Thursday I like to go to bed by 10pm and sleep until at least 5:45am. One messed up night and I'm all outta whack.  I have NO IDEA how mom's do it. I'm pretty sure some of them sleep like 4 hours a night and call that "good." So not ready to be a parent yet.

Anyway, tonight I'm sharing a really easy and really delicious recipe! This is perfect for any holiday potluck or New Years Eve celebration. Of course it's healthy too.

Sweet Chicken Meatballs

-2 pounds Ground Chicken
-2 egg whites
-1/2 cup 1-minute Oats
-1 bottle BBQ Sauce (try to choose a lower sugar kind. Like <8g Sugar per 2 Tbsp)
-1 Jar Grape Jelly (I used Welch's Reduced Sugar)

-Mix ground chicken, egg whites and oats in a large bowl. Use your hands to combine together very well.
-Heat large pan on stovetop to medium-high. Spray pan with baking spray.
-Roll chicken mixture into small meatballs. (People will want to eat these in one bite, so the smaller the better!)
-After rolling meatballs, place them in the heated pan. Brown the outside.
-Meanwhile, combine BBQ Sauce and Jelly in a crockpot on high.
-After meatballs are browned, add them to the crockpot. Cook for an additional 20 minutes (or until fully cooked) in the crockpot.
-Hold hot until you serve them!

Bikini Competitor?

As a fitness lover and Instagram obsessed girl (come on, I know I'm not the only one!!) I've seen TONS of my fellow fit friends start training for bikini competitions. For a long time I had ZERO interest and couldn't fathom how people had that much dedication to eat so much protein while cutting back SO LOW on their carbohydrates. The inner dietitian came out and I thought that they're wrecking their digestive system for this silly competition.

But then I started Flexible Dieting (IIFYM) and thought that if I could eat like THIS for a competition, why not? Still, it was just a thought and I didn't really focus in on it longer than 10 seconds.

THEN, my fit friend Arielle posted her before and after and entered her first competition. (You can find her on Instagram @relletonesup).

I mean, come on! How freaking awesome is this? Yes, its a butt shot and can be awkward. But I choose to look at her back muscles and how much she has toned up! I started thinking that if SHE'S overcome confidence issues and is able to give it her all, so can I!

So right now, I'm SERIOUSLY THINKING about it. I won't say I'm doing it. But a possible show is in June of 2015 and I have Arielle doing that one and another friend of mine that is a newbie :)

The only problem with all of this is that competing is really expensive. There's tons of stuff to buy, you have to learn how to pose LOL and you need a coach for that. I really don't want to pay money for any of it! But maybe once I start seeing my hard work turn into lean muscle and results, my mind will change. As always, Joe is really supportive and will help me with anything I want to do. I love that guy :)

So for now, I'm going to do Insanity Max:30 to kick off the leaning out portion (Join Me Doing Insanity Max:30 HERE!). Then I'm going to start Les Mils Pump (if my momma and daddy listened to my request for a present haha) to build more muscle. After those 2 programs, I'm going to reevaluate my plan the weekend of February 7th!

Guilt-Free Thanksgiving

It's almost Thanksgiving!! I don't know about you, but I really need this break! Granted, I only have Thursday off and have to work the Badger football game, but having a mid-week Thursday off is always awesome.

This time of the year I always get asked how to stay on track, how to eat healthy, exercise and not binge.

It can be really hard, especially with traveling and wanting to spend time with family and enjoy what they're eating. Carving out time to exercise while traveling is also a challenge. But first things first, how can you EAT better during the holidays?

Well, for Thanksgiving I have 8 tips that I like to try and stick to. Here they are:

This year I'm signed up for a Thanksgiving 5K (so that takes care of my wake up and workout). I'll have my Shakeology BEFORE the race, because you always get to races so early and I get so hungry!!  And you know what the AWESOME thing about working out is? It makes you want to drink more water!! Which takes care of #3. That's the top 3 things I do all knocked out just by running a 5k :)

Moving on to dinner time, it can be ROUGH. Don't get me wrong, I'm a self-proclaimed mashed potato addict. My uncle makes the joke EVERY YEAR that you can't leave the potatoes beside me or I'll eat the whole bowl. But as I've grown up, I've tried to vary my veggies. It's better to get some color on that plate like carrots, sweet potatoes and a side salad to start with. Then you can move on to a NORMAL portion of mashed potatoes. Which is the next tip! Eat items that are rare, or specific to your family Thanksgiving. You can get rolls or mashed potatoes any time of the year at any restaurant. But I bet you can't get stuffing balls, green bean casserole, or corn bread dressing. THOSE are the things you should focus in on!

After enjoying those items, be sure to STOP when you're full. I like to save room for a sampling of desserts and some after dinner coffee. You can't have that when you're stuffed to the max with dinner!

Finally, stop acting like this is your only chance to eat all day. Who says you can't have a small plate of leftovers a few hours later? Don't let Thanksgiving derail your routine, simply fit your routine into Thanksgiving!

I hope that helps you and that you have a HAPPY, HEALTHY, and SAFE Thanksgiving!!!

NOTE:  I am going to be starting my #HolidayHustle group November 28th through December 23rd. If you want some tips just like this to staying on track for the month of december and that extra level of accountability then make sure to join here! The requirements are 30 days of Shakeology, Fitness Program optional, option to start with the 3 day refresh and or the 21 day fix!  Think about it this way!  Don't wait until after the holidays to get started.  You can actually lose an average of 2lbs a week between now and Christmas! Think 10 lbs gone before the ball drops on 2015!

Beachbody Super Saturday Event Announcement!

It's a rainy Sunday here in Madison. The perfect day to relax on the couch and not do much. So Joe and I are both on our computers listening to the Tom Petty Pandora station and loving it! Tom Petty + the sound of the rain on the skylights is awesome.

Today I just wanted to share an event that I'm hosting in January. It's pretty far off, but with the holidays it's never too early to put something on your calendar! On January 10th I'll be hosting a Super Saturday event here in Madison!

What is Super Saturday? It is a quarterly even that Team Beachbody sponsors and coaches all over the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico host! Its jam packed with customers weight loss success stories, Coaches business success, recognition for achievements and training for coaches on how to grow their Beachbody Business. The premises of my business has always been sharing my experience, my story, transformation and what has worked for me. And that's what I plan to do on January 10th! Honestly I run the other way when someone tries to sell me on something so I always go with attraction marketing!

Here is the link to the event that you can register at:

If you're local to Madison and aren't quite sure if this is right for you, shoot me an email! I'd love to tell you a little bit more and get you excited for this opportunity:

Earn $500 For Christmas By Being a Beachbody Coach on My Team!

Hey y'all! Welp, it's that time of year. When we all stress out over buying gifts for our friends and family. I know Joe has it extra hard this time of year because there's Christmas, plus my birthday, his dads birthday and his brothers birthday! WHEW. If you don't plan right, that could cost you a lot!

As a Beachbody Coach I have the privilege to help many people transform their bodies and minds with my challenge groups. I LOVE hearing my clients tell me how they've made progress in their lives, just by focusing on themselves for that little bit of time during their workout. I know that this is exactly what I am supposed to do every day, because I wake up EXCITED to talk with them, hear their struggles and help them through it. It was a slow start for me as a coach, but I'm proud to say that I not only cover the cost of my own Shakeology every month…but earn an income to cover half of the rent each month (this is especially helpful now that I just bought a new car since mine was totaled!).

So, as I was sitting at home last night thinking about the holidays…what to get Joe, my mom, dad, brother and more people for Christmas, I made the goal to pay for my entire Christmas with money that I make from Beachbody.

This season I don't want to be the only one to pay for my Christmas…instead, I want to help YOU pay for your Christmas too!

I can take on 5 people….5 brand new coaches that are not currently coaches and are committed to following my very simple plan. I am going to teach you how to focus in on the right activities, how to SHARE ...and not sell or "should" on people, how to be authentic and real, genuine and realistic with others to earn $500 this holiday season.

You have to be willing to invite people to a holiday health and fitness group, which we'll run together. While I will do the majority of the work for the group, YOU get to interact, help and support your customers and earn that commission. I'll help teach you what to say, how to say it, how to feel like you're sharing an opportunity instead of just selling a product. It's not about how many people you can get to join, but it's about how many people you can build trust with. If you're a genuine person, who cares about people… your friends, family and acquaintances will see that. So we'll both do this with ease, rather than forcing something on people that they're not ready for!

On top of the holiday group, you'll be a part of an exclusive online group where I will post a tip with info, scripts, resources and documents to make YOUR life easier. The basis of our group with be the all-star book "Rock Your Network Marking Business" by Sarah Robbins (provided via Kindle to you, from me!) We'll have a group chat each week to talk about how you're doing too!

If you've been considering coaching for a while and haven't gone through with it--nows your time! Start now, set an example and once the holidays are over you won't just have earned $500, you'll have inspired people just by your dedication! It can be your part time gig or eventually a full time income. It's a PERSONAL goal that YOU get to pick.

With the launch of Insanity Max:30 in December and The 21 Day Fix Extreme in February, the opportunities for growth are huge. You will have more success if you start now, rather than later.

So, lets get the ball rolling!  I am going to be creating the group and getting organized plus reading through the applications and selecting 5 people I feel have the desire and determination to reach success as a coach!

If you would like to be considered for a spot in the Cash for Christmas coach group please complete the application below.

Give the Gift of Health

Believe me, I know how cheesy that sounds.

On this blog I try to share products I love, recipes that are easy and healthy, and some motivation.

But I can't pass up this opportunity to share what I love and what you need (gifts). As I've grown up I've realized how hard it can be to buy presents for some people. The person it should NEVER be hard to buy a gift for is… a fitness lover. With programs like Insanity, P90X, The 21 Day Fix, Focus T25, P90 and MORE; there's something for everyone at every stage of their journey.

Personally, I started with Focus T25 and Shakeology last summer. It was something that I could commit to and follow through on. Here's what happened: I dropped 9 pounds and 14 inches.

Then, this summer I needed another kick-in-the-pants. So, I did Insanity with Joe! I lost more weight and inches and I think you can see a really good difference in the pictures.

I really don't know how I could say it BETTER than that video.

But, what I'm trying to get at is…don't miss out on the opportunity to gift someone you love with the gift of health!! Stop worrying that they'll read into it and "think you're calling them fat." Interrupt them and tell them the real meaning behind it. YOU CARE. You want them to be around forever. You want them to get high off of endorphins. You see them working so hard at the gym and not getting the results they want. You think this could be their "aha" moment when they realize that they're GOOD at something and they love doing it. Whatever your motivation is…as long as it's coming from a place of love, they'll appreciate the gift.

Enjoy the holiday's GUILT FREE! Comment or reach out to me on social media or email me at and let's get you all set up!!

Wedding Planning

Joe and I have been engaged for 6 months now, and the wedding is in less than a year :)

Everyone always asks me questions about the wedding… and sometimes I feel like I let people down! Let me explain why...Remember my post last week about my BIGGEST Weakness?? It was DETAILS! I'm so bad with details. Now, apply that to planning a wedding. Yep, you guessed it… not good! The big picture and outcome I care SO MUCH ABOUT, but the little things? Woof.

We have the Church, the Pastor, the venue, the food, the photographer, the booze, the DJ, and the florist. All that's left on my big "to-do" list is save-the-dates, invites, bridesmaids dresses (oh, and asking the bridesmaids to be in the wedding as well. It's hard since I live 14 hours away from most of them lol), groomsman's suits, MY DRESS and the cake!

And to be perfectly honest, every meeting we've had we always defer to the professionals opinion. I mean they DO plan weddings for a living. This is their passion and they're good at it. Why not let them have creative control over the flower designs, backlighting and table design? There's nothing more painful to me than thinking about how to set up a table. All I want when I sit down is a bread basket, soft butter and a glass of champagne. (Karen, if you're reading this…  make sure to write that down ;)

So, as un-enlightening as that may have been…it's the truth. We have stuff planned. It'll come together awesome. Everyone will have a great time. Joe and I will be married.

Side note: If you know of a really stress-free invitation company that I can work with (who also enjoys giving small business owners a discount), let me know! I think that might be the hardest choice I have to make!

Workout Schedule

Well hello there again, Monday. I really wasn't excited for you since it's 17 degrees out and all I want to do is snuggle in my bed. But I guess if you have to come, then I have to be productive.

Today I just wanted to share with you guys my Weekly Workout Schedule. From now until my Insanity Certification in January I plan to do at least 3 Insanity workouts per week. Then, I'll add
in other workouts based on what I want to do!

  • Monday: Insanity Cardio Power and Resistance & 21 Day Fix, Upper Fix
    • I just feel like my arms need an extra push today!!
  • Tuesday: Focus T25 Speed 2.0 & 21 Day Fix, 10-Minute Ab Fix
  • Wednesday: Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit
  • Thursday: 21 Day Fix, Lower Fix
  • Friday: Spin Class at Cyc
    • We're leaving work early on Friday to get out of town for the night. I know I need a good cardio burn before we do (since I'll be enjoying some gambling, alcohol and wine)! I enjoy getting to the 6:15am class at Cyc Fitness in Madison then heading straight to work!
  • Saturday: PIYO: Define Upper Body
  • Sunday: Insanity Pure Cardio
These are already all laid out on my calendar! Do you schedule your workouts? I like to treat them like a commitment that I'm NOT allowed to skip.

Healthy Ice Cream Float

Tonight I wanted to share with you all my new favorite treat!! The bonus part is that I don't even feel guilty about eating it :) And you won't either!!

This week I was lucky enough to have my friends at ArcticZero send me over  a care package filled with their newest flavors! Orange Cream, Coconut and Sea Salt Caramel. (Side note: this is one of the nicest companies I have ever worked with. Lindsay sent me a handwritten note and they never expected anything in return. They just saw that I tried Arctic Zero and raved about it, so they wanted to let me be one of the first to try the new flavor! There's something to be said for a company who just wants to share their product without asking for anything in return. Good people!)

As soon as I got the Orange Cream I knew what I wanted to do with it… ICE CREAM FLOAT. I don't even care that the first real snow was yesterday, I still wanted it!

Like I said in a previous post, I also have fallen in love with Zevia.

Naturally, these 2 things belong together.

So here it is:

Scoop out half of the Arctic Zero pint into a fancy glass, because fancy glasses make everything better.

Pour Cream Soda Zevia overtop.

I also think that Maple Vanilla Arctic Zero with Ginger Root Beer Zevia would be phenomenal and is next on my list!

The macros for this recipe (including whole soda):
Calories: 72 Protein: 6g Carbs: 18g Fat: 0g

Needless to say, you're welcome, and ENJOY!!

My Biggest Weakness

I've been reading the book, #GIRLBOSS. Not only is it witty and packed with practical advice…but I'm 1 chapter away from being finished with it already. Anytime that I finish a book in less than a week, I know that I have to share it with everyone.

The book is written by the woman who created NastyGal (a fashion brand). To be honest, I never heard of NastyGal before the book. But I really want to shop there now!! Mostly based on the morals of the company, the hard working CEO and the vision that drives the business. She talks about how NastyGal came to be a company, how messed up she was as a youth and gives great advice on how to portray yourself as a #GIRLBOSS without coming off as cocky. And to my (relieved) surprise, she doesn't use #GIRLBOSS to bash men or push her own agenda. The book is really written for every female. Whether you're looking to find your passion, start a business or even apply for an entry-level job!

Besides the entrepreneurial side of the book, there's also a few chapters on resumes, cover letters and interviews. Although I plan to never apply to another job again (hello business owner life), I found the ideas she talks about really useful! For example, she talks about the dreaded interview question that everyone HATES: what's your biggest weakness?

According to her (and me, since I now interview college kids to work for me), DO NOT turn some ridiculous strength into a weakness. "I'm a perfectionist." I'm sorry, but I don't buy it. In the world of Registered Dietitians the "perfectionist" response is the go-to answer. But lets be serious, YOU'RE TYPE A! You can't stand things to be unorganized, sloppy or not the way YOU want them to be… but that's not a weakness. That's who you are and thats a strength that companies need in certain divisions.

But here's the truth: I'm much more likely to hire an honest college student rather than one who is clearly just trying to impress me.

MY biggest weakness (which I've said in interviews and STILL got the job *gasp*) is my LACK of detail. I hate details.  I hate checking grammar (which should be obvious since I blog like I'm talking and not typing). I hate thinking about every little thing that could go wrong. It's just not on my radar to think through things that much. I'm more of a BIG PICTURE kind of person. I prefer to attack things head on, then figure out the issues that arise as we go. I can see the end result in my head and for me, that's enough. It must have been enough for my boss, too--since he hired me.

Even in school I was better at MACROnutrient metabolism than MICROnutrient metabolism. (Nutrition jokes, damn I hope someone took metabolism classes and understands what I mean).

All in all, I really recommend reading this book if you're a female looking to shake things up in your life. Even if you're not ready to start your own company, maybe it will give you the confidence to start looking for a new job so that you can leave one you hate.

Insanity Certified Instructor!!!

Today I'm announcing something that scares the crap outta me: I'm going to become an Insanity Instructor. Yes, I said it! Even typing it fills my stomach with butterflies.

Will people take my class? Will they mind that I SWEAT hardcore? Will they enjoy how I teach? How do I even know I'll be good at it?

Those questions (and a million others) are racing through my head. But there's something in my heart that tells me that this is the right step. I've ALWAYS wanted to be a group fitness instructor. Even in college at Penn State it was my dream. But I let my fears get the best of me and talk me out of it. In college I thought I wasn't strong enough and then decided that because of that, I could never do it. I also thought people would laugh at me for wanting to become an instructor since I didn't have a 6-pack, wasn't thin and didn't own yoga pants. I'm kicking myself for having that thought! I could have been really good if I wouldn't have listened to my negative self.

This is actually the instructor I will be learning from!
*Take home message for all you college kids…if you have a desire in your HEART to do something, just do it! Stop putting it off because you just waste time getting older and not chasing that dream.*

Okay, back to Insanity. When Joe and I did the 60 Day Program I had awesome results. I got so much better at plank, my endurance went up, and I felt so accomplished after finishing the program. As a Beachbody Coach, I knew that Insanity Certification was an option and that local gyms and community centers offered classes. But I was scared to try.

Then, out of nowhere this week I stopped being scared. I realized that I have to stop "playing around" with this idea and just freaking DO IT!

So, January 11th I will start my training to become a Group Insanity Instructor and teaching even MORE people how to get fit and healthy and chase their dream!
