What I've Been Doing Lately...

First, I've been really busy with the opening of my healthy eating café! Although I've been putting in long hours all week, standing for almost 14 hours one day... I can't believe how lucky I am!! This is the most exciting and rewarding job I've ever had. There's something to be said for challenging yourself mentally and taking on a project that terrifies you. When you see it come together the sense of accomplishment is unparalleled. I know that I have a few more months of long days, but it will be worth it in the end! I will be a manager and developer of a healthy eating café, which is something not many Registered Dietitians can say.
Another proud moment has been keeping up with my workouts!! It would be really easy to give up and take rest days all the time, but I'm no longer that person. I even came home from my long day, laced up my shoes and did intervals! Granted my heels hurt like a mother from standing all day, but eventually the pain from my muscles made that seem like nothing.
This weekend Joe-Joe had his friends fly in for the Beer and Cheese Fest! Last year my friends came, then they decided to never visit me in the winter time again, so we asked his friends (newbs didn't know how cold it would be :) We had such a good time! Beer and cheese everywhereeee. I worked out in the morning though, so its okay :)
Next up, I'm going to start doing more posts about form and fun exercises to incorporate into your daily routines. Here's my first tip.... Squats are ALL ABOUT THE SHOELACES! You have to be able to see them if you want to get results in your behind (and keep your knees safe).

  1. I would love to hear some of the things you offer at the cafe!! I'm always looking for new things to make and I feel like most of the recipes out there are the same thing over and over again. And yyuuumm!! Bbeeeeerrr!!
